Privacy Policy for ResourceHub

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal data in connection with your use of the ResourceHub Shopify app ("the App") and our website ("the Site"). By installing or using the App or accessing the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

Information Collected from Merchants

When you install ResourceHub, we automatically access certain information from your Shopify account, including:
 

  • Store name and domain

  • Store owner contact details (name, email)

  • App usage details (installation date, interactions within the App)

  • Product catalog data (titles, descriptions, variants, images, inventory levels, and pricing)

  • Uploaded files and assets (e.g. product brochures, catalogs, marketing PDFs)
     

We use this information solely to:
 

  • Provide and maintain the App’s functionality

  • Communicate with you regarding product updates or support

  • Understand usage trends to improve the App

Information Collected from Store Customers

ResourceHub accesses limited customer data from Shopify to provide access control features configured by the merchant. Specifically, the App may access a customer’s Shopify customer ID and customer tags to determine eligibility for restricted documents or resources (for example, tags like “Wholesale” or “VIP”). ResourceHub does not request access to protected customer fields such as name, email, phone number, or address, and we do not store or use those fields.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:
 

  • Authenticate access to the App

  • Support app features and customer support

  • Analyze usage for product improvements

  • Communicate with you regarding product features, updates, or support

  • Send occasional promotional communications related to our products and services

  • Enforce merchant-configured access rules for documents/resources using customer tags (and customer ID where required)
     

You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the email.

We do not use or share your data for unrelated third-party advertising or sales purposes.

Data Retention

We retain store and usage data only while the App is installed on your store. If you uninstall the App, we will automatically delete all related data within 30 days. You may also request deletion at any time, and we will permanently delete your data within 30 days of receiving the request. This includes any Shopify customer IDs and customer tags processed or stored for access control, which are deleted on app uninstall and in response to Shopify data erasure requests (for example, customer/shop redaction requests).

Data Sharing and Security

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it only with trusted third-party service providers who assist with infrastructure, analytics, and support, such as:
 

  • Application hosting and backend infrastructure (e.g., Gadget.dev)

  • Cloud hosting and storage for documents (e.g., Amazon Web Services)

  • Content delivery networks (e.g., Amazon CloudFront)

  • Customer support systems and chat (e.g., Tawk.to or similar)

  • Analytics and session insights (e.g., Lucky Orange or similar)
     

All third-party processors are required to meet our security and data protection standards.
 

Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

If you are located outside of the United States or Canada, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

Your Rights

If you are a Shopify merchant using our App, you have the right to:
 

  • Request access to the data we store about your store

  • Request correction or deletion of your information

If you are a customer of a merchant using ResourceHub and wish to exercise rights over your personal data, please contact the merchant directly, as we do not control the customer relationship or the merchant’s Shopify customer account data.

Children’s Privacy

ResourceHub is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after any updates indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
